Abstract

  • In August 2019 Jambi City experienced deflation of 0.84 percent and Muara Bungo City deflation of 0.13 percent. Jambi City Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 136.15 and Muara Bungo City Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded 137.57.
  • Deflation in Jambi City occurred in 2 (two) groups of goods and services expenditure due to a decrease in the index, and deflation in Muara Bungo City occurred in 3 (three) groups of goods and services expenditure due to a decrease in index.
  • The inflation rate for Jambi City calendar1 this month was 1.17 percent, and the year on year inflation rate 2 was 2.67 percent. While the inflation rate for the calendar year Muara Bungo City this month was 3.57 percent and the year on year inflation rate was 4.82 percent.
  • From 23 cities in Sumatra that calculate CPI, 8 cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Metro City by 0.41 percent and the lowest occurred in Banda Aceh City by 0.07 percent. Of the 82 cities that calculate CPI in Indonesia, 44 (forty four) cities experience inflation. The highest inflation in Kudus was 0.82 percent and the lowest was in Tasikmalaya, Madiun, and Pare-pare cities by 0.01 percent each.
