Abstract

• In July 2018, Jambi City experienced deflation amounting to 0.76 percent and the City of Muara Bungo inflation of 0.12 percent. Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Jambi City amounting to 132.51 and the City Consumer Price Index (CPI) Muara Bungo is recorded at 131.20.

• Deflation in Jambi City occurred in 3 (three) groups spending on goods and services due to a decrease index, and inflation in Muara Bungo City occurs at 6 (six) groups of goods and services due an increase in index.

• Jambi City's calendar year1 inflation rate this month at 1.45 percent, and inflation rate "year on year" 3.34 percent. While the inflation rate calendar year Muara Bungo City this month was 1.20 percent and the rate year on year inflation was 2.04 percent.

• Out of 23 cities in Sumatra that calculate CPI, as much 18 (eighteen) cities experienced inflation. Highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in the City of Bengkulu by 0.87 percent and the lowest occurred in Jambi City by 0.76 percent. Of 82 cities that calculate CPI in Indonesia, as many as 68 (sixty eight) cities experienced inflation. Inflation highest in Sorong City at 1.47 percent and lowest in Ambon City 1.45 percent.
